The big dog bed in the sky

After a week and a half of working and flu-ing, we returned to the site to take some measurements and make sure our tiny house was doing alright without us. It's the longest we've spent away from our house since we started building and the break was a nice change, but once we got there we realized something was missing. Powder, our trusty site companion, had passed away.

Powder was the gentle and fun-loving Malamute belonging to our generous site neighbour Bob. Known for her love of roast chicken, scintillating conversation and snuggles, she often greeted us as we drove into the site, following behind our truck to give us a nuzzle as soon as we got out. She's been there since day one, keeping our spirits high and, as the matriarch of the site, overseeing our progress. She was our most frequent visitor and first dog in our tiny house, and we are better off for it.

RIP P-dog, you'll be missed.

The theme of the week seems to be moving on and appropriately, we find ourselves focusing inwards, now having to make decisions about the interior. We're reflecting on how we live our daily lives, how we want to live in this house and what it's really all about. After the break we've had, we're excited about the challenges and creativity ahead and aware of moving forward into a new phase, leaving some things behind.
